Aisha Tyler was born on 18 September 1970 in San Francisco, California, U.S.A. She was born in the home of Robin Gregory, a teacher, and Jim Tyler, a photographer. She remained with her father after the separation of her parents. She was just ten years old at the time of the separation.
While in San Francisco, she studied at the McAteer High School and School of the Arts High School. She earned a degree in environmental policy from the Dartmouth College. There, she became a member of a co-ed fraternity named The Tabard. She went on to become a co-founder and a singer in an all-female cappella group named ‘The Dartmouth Rokapellas’. In 1996, she moved to Los Angeles, California.
She is the wife of Jeff Tietjens, an attorney, and both are fond of beer.
She contributes regularly for the magazines ‘Glamour’ and ‘Jane’. Her first book was released in January 2004, titled as ‘Swerve: A Guide to the Sweet Life for Postmodern Girls’.
She hosted the ‘Talk Soup’ and the reality-dating series ‘The Fifth Wheel‘ in 2001. After she was over with both the shows, she started doing independent projects.
